ART + WINE + CHEESE: Bronze, Resin, Copper and Multimedia Sculptures with Massachusetts-based artist/sculptor Michael Alfano

Michael Alfano is known for creating figurative and surrealistic sculpture that goes beyond the literal, adapting the human form to convey philosophical ideas and abstract concepts. He cites his major influences as Salvador Dali, Jo Davidson, and Jean-Antione Houdon.  His sculptures are found in private collections throughout the world. Monuments and other public art he’s created are on permanent display in the United States, India, and Greece. 

Fairfax County recently hired Michael to install 10 sculptures along Richmond Highway between the Capital Beltway and Fort Belvoir as part of a campaign titled “Faces of One.”  Nepenthe Gallery is proud to partner with Michael and support the local efforts to elevate our community with original and dynamic works of art.  Join us to meet Michael, learn about his works and career, and discover where his sculptures are installed right here in your hometown.
