ART + WINE + CHEESE: “Important, Inspiring and Joyful Artworks by Black Artists” continues with discussion by JEFF TRAFIDLO

Art Collector and Fine Art Appraiser Jeff Trafidlo will be at Nepenthe to discuss one of his favorite artists—PURVIS YOUNG(American 1943-2010). Young was an American artist of Bahamian descent whose art often blended painting and drawing with collaged elements. Young’s works are in museums around the world and in private collections of many well-known actors and sports heroes. Jeff will compare Young’s art and career—-he was known as a bit of an “outsider”—to other African-American artists who were active during Young’s lifetime and were more traditionally trained.
