Call to Artists: The Alexandria Experience
Entries are now open for a juried exhibition celebrating Alexandria VA’s heritage, beauty and significance.

Important Dates
Artworks selected for the Alexandria Experience collection will remain at Nepenthe Gallery on consignment and for sale for a period of one year. Artists can submit one digital image of the original artwork by the deadline of August 1, 2026 to carrie@nepenthegallery.com. Limit one submission per artist.
Submission should include: Artist name, title of artwork, artist contact information (cell phone, email address, and home address), size of artwork, medium.
All artists whose works are selected will receive a written contract from Nepenthe Gallery with consignment information and terms and will be asked to sign and return the contract.
This exhibit will include important artifacts and documents, along with memorabilia from many of Alexandria’s longest-standing businesses and multi-generational families.
This will be a collection of original artworks by artists 18 years or older in any media and any style from any part of the world selected by a committee. Only original artwork will be considered and all submissions should reflect the artist’s reverence or affection for Alexandria, VA. Artists do not have to currently live in Alexandria, VA or have ever lived in Alexandria, VA to enter an artwork for consideration.
