Kimberly Yourick has been an artist since childhood. She attended the Sam Fox School of Design and Visual Arts at Washington University in St. Louis where she received her Bachelor of Fine Arts in metalsmithing. Kimberly’s work has expanded from pastel painting to oil painting, working en plein air. She has exhibited her paintings at the Glenview Mansion in Rockville, Maryland and various studios in Maryland. Kimberly shares this intention, “With my work, I attempt to capture a moment in time, particularly in nature, when we experience an overwhelming sense of color, gesture, distance, and mood that is not easily described in words. This would be an emotional moment when one is touched by visual beauty that a camera cannot capture. I do much of my painting in plein air to record these moments.”
