Jennifer Kahn Barlow is an oil painter with a sweet tooth. Her sweets obsession goes beyond consuming sugar-coated confections, to becoming Jennifer’s most celebrated subject matter. As humans we are hard-wired and socially trained to celebrate, crave, and seek out sugar; however, we rarely step back to admire its form along with the feelings it cultivates.
Jennifer shows her work throughout the Mid-Atlantic region, including Glavé Kocen in Richmond, VA. Jennifer has been featured in the Washingtonian, Professional| Artist, Bold Journey, and Canvas Rebel magazines. Her paintings reside in the collections of The District of Columbia Government, Cookology Culinary School (Arlington, VA), and Strathmore, along with numerous private collections across the United States.
Jennifer grew up in a food-loving family in the Boston suburbs and obtained a B.A. from Skidmore College, but has called Washington, DC home since 1999. She currently seeks inspiration from bakeries in the DC region, while working out of her home studio in Potomac, MD. Jennifer is also President of the Montgomery Art Association.
