From the artist:  “For me, all art forms are an attempt to draw out an emotional response from the artist, the viewer, listener, reader, etc. The human intellect is the only one we know of intimately that can combine both emotional and intellectual/psychological awareness and response. In my view, these responses are indistinguishable and combine in an infinite number of ways. Ideally, the psycho-emotional response an individual has to a piece is a reflection, in the Platonic sense, of a deeper reality that we can only glimpse. Art provides the opportunity for both the artist and the viewer to share in the deeper reality. Color, shape, form, light and texture are all tools I use to evoke an emotional response in myself from both the process of painting and in the completed work. If others can share in that, all the better.”
