Tiblisi, Georgia (1921-1995)
Otari Shiuk (formerly Shiukavili) was born in 1921 in Tiblisi, Georgia. Art enthusiasts have called Otari’s work “Russian Realism” though it has also been referred to as “Russian Impressionism.” Otari’s choice of colors and simple compositions sparked his sensitivity to beauty. In academic language, his works are aesthetically wonderful and pleasing to the eye and soul.
Otari’s paintings have been sold to private collectors all over the world. He spent most of his life in the United States and had studios in NYC and Washington, D.C.
