ART + WINE + CHEESE: Alexandria artist EVE STOCKTON at Nepenthe with new works!
Thursday, September 26 at 6:00 p.m.
Eve Stockton grew up in rural Ohio and now lives in Alexandria, VA. She is known for her large-scale woodcut prints inspired by close observation of nature and an eclectic interest in science. Eve received degrees in architecture with a minor in fine arts from Princeton and Yale and worked as a registered architect.
Today, Eve uses her background in architecture and art to engage the variables of printmaking, enabling her to produce a body of dynamic, graphic images. Her prints are nature/science-based and have been exhibited at the National Academy of Science and have been reproduced on covers of Nature Genetics Magazine. Eve was featured in “Primal Power” in the May/June ’15 issue of Home & Design Magazine. She regularly exhibits in the CT, NY and DC areas. Abroad, she has had one-person shows in Ireland and Nova Scotia.
Eve is an active member of the Center for Contemporary Printmaking, Norwalk, CT; Silvermine Guild Arts Center, New Canaan, CT; and the Washington Project for the Arts, DC.
Eve’s woodcut prints are marvels–come to Nepenthe to treat yourself to a unique and dazzling artform! The artist—Eve—is amazing, too!
